Echinacea Concept consists of vitamin C, zinc and a patented complex called Kalmcold® that contains guinea echinacea (Andrographis paniculata).

KalmCold® has been clinically tested to relieve cold and flu symptoms (headache, tiredness, cough, sore throat, sleep disturbance, fever, stuffy nose, secretions...)

It has a dual action:

It inhibits the inflammatory cascade by suppressing neutrophil adhesion and reducing the number and density of macrophages.

It enhances the body's response to pathogenic agents: it stimulates phagocytosis (the process where macrophages engulf the pathogenic agent in order to eradicate it) and has a positive impact on the effectiveness of natural killer (NK) cells, the lymphocytes that react in the event of a viral attack.

Echinacea Concept also contains vitamin C and zinc. Vitamin C is known to boost immunity by supporting the barrier function of epithelial cells against pathogens, increasing phagocyte activity, and stimulating the production of lymphocytes (both immune cells that identify and neutralize harmful agents such as viruses).

A meta-analysis concluded that zinc can reduce the duration of colds by up to 33%. Zinc is essential for the synthesis of antibodies and the multiplication of white blood cells.
